“Places in Urbana, OH”
Located at Grimes Field in Urbana, Ohio, the Museum’s purpose is to restore and preserve aircraft specifically but not limited to the aircraft of World War II, including the rebuild of the B-17 Flying Fortress "Champaign Lady." The B-17 was moved into the museum October of 2010. When visitors come they will be able to see the rebuild process as well as enjoy the rest of the planes that are housed there, including a B-25, A-26 Invader, C-47, and T-6. It is the intent of the museum to operate these aircraft for static and flying displays. Grimes Field is also the home to the Grimes Flying Lab Foundation, dedicated to restoring the Flying Lab test vehicle, and the Mid-Eastern Regional Fly-In (MERFI), the second oldest regional fly-in in the U.S.
