“The Grand Dame of the Great River Road”

The quarter-mile canopy of giant live oak trees, believed to be nearly 300 years old, forms an impressive avenue leading to this classic Greek-revival style antebellum home. Its guestrooms provide true southern hospitality and state-of-the-art amenities.

It is an amazing, magical place. My husband and I were married here. There are small houses that you can rent and stay on the plantation. The food is really good. It's a relaxing place.

We went through in August 2020. The wife has always been fascinated with plantations and wanted to visit here more than any other. Coming through in the age of Corona, it was almost void of people. We had our own individual tour of the house, were able to walk through the gardens and everything else there was to offer. Cannot recommend this enough. Our tour guide even grew up on the farm!

The grounds and the long row of ancient oaks is beautiful. The house tour was, as others said, shorter than the other plantation tour. Also not as much history in the story. The oaks are amazing though

Tour was rushed, granted it was a busy day, the wait was 35 min. Also, they only showed a few rooms and compared to the other plantation I visited , the amount of facts about the house was a lot less. Tour lasted 30 min. The slave cabins were interesting to look at but were new. The most interesting part was seeing how much the slaves were sold for (this info was found in a slave cabin).

The oak trees are amazing but the house isn't anything real special, especially if you've been to other plantations or houses of that era.

Was definitely worth the trip. About 1.5 hrs outside of New Orleans. The house and the trees were beautiful. Very informative signs and tour
