Colossal waste of time. I had just been to Carlsbad the previous day and quite frankly this did just not measure up. I paid more to enter here than I did at Carlsbad. I will be planning more trips to Carlsbad, Colossal Cave, not so much.

Great little cave to visit -- tour is about an hour long, easy to maneuver inside the cave. The tour guide we had was knowledgeable and walked slow so that it was easy to follow. Compared to other caves, such as Carlsbad Caverns, yes, this cave system is small and not as grand, however, is still worth the time. Cute little gift shop where you get your tickets. Get there in the morning when they open for smaller groups.

This was a small campground. Only 4 sites are set aside for RVs. More sites were available down the very rough road. We had to stop first at the cave gift store to fill out the registration for the campsite and pay the $12. The road in was a bit bumpy - the blacktop was crumbled and choppy, but it was easy to drive when we took our time. The bad part of the road was only about 1/2 mile. There were multiple trails to hike and the hills were beautiful. It was quiet and peaceful even though two other campers were there. Sites 1 & 2 were close together and sites 3 & 4 were close, but everyone was polite and quiet. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed in site 4, it was pretty level. Nice picnic table and BBQ pit near, but the county was not allowing any fires at all while we were there. No hookups. There are vault toilets down the road a bit by the tent camping, but we used the restroom in the RV. There is also drinking water down by the tent area, but not for filling RV tanks. The road was potholed but it was fine for our 19ft rented RV, we drove on worse during our trip. We arrived at the parking lot at 3pm and saw coatis, and then hiked up in the early morning and saw them come out of the cave, that was the best part about camping here! Gates to the property are closed overnight, so you do have to arrive during business hours. We had cell phone service up by the cave, but not down at our site.

The gates to the park are locked from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Campers are unable to come and go during these hours.

There are four designated RV spots and an area for overflow/larger rigs. We have a 20ft Airstream towed by a 4Runner and had no issues navigating the designated RV spots. The road is rough.

There is a vault toilet and water by the group camp area.

No Verizon cell service.

Great, quiet campground.! I recommend site 5 as it has the only readily accessible water spigot.
