“enjoy & camp in the beauty of nature”
Enjoy the beauty of nature at Valentine’s parks. Valentine City Park is just outside of town on North Main Street. Stately oak trees surround Minnechaduza Creek, which fl ows through the center of the 40-acre park. The park is open year-round and offers activities such as camping, fishing (the creek is stocked), horseshoe pitching, hiking and picnicking. The park also has three playground areas for children. South of the creek, more than a mile of trails wind through the park. Though offi cially unmarked, they are clear enough to follow. A rentable pavilion has a full kitchen and seating for 75-80 people. It rents for $55 a day, plus a $25 refundable deposit. Other available buildings are the Old Log Cabin and the Girl Scout Cabin.Camping is available for RVs and tents. Most camper pads are streamside, tree-shaded, or both, and restrooms and free hot-water showers are on site. Space is on a fi rst-come, fi rstserved basis. Th e fee is $5 per night.

Disc golf, showers, bathrooms, and antique kids- park toys, like teeter totters & a merry go round made from farm equip. Good coffee and friendly people in town. Drive out of your way to stay here!
Used this spot as a quick overnight stop on a long road trip. Can't beat the price at $5 per night. Campground was quiet with a serene setting next to a creek. Did not use the public bathrooms so cannot review that part.
All sites were primitive camping.
There were lots of mosquitoes due to the creek.
Wish there were places like this to stop at in all towns.

Level, $5.00 per nt. Park anywhere along fence line, no designate spots, but obvious pull ins with picnic tables and grills. Shaded, modern restrooms, playground and room for quite a few campers. Well maintained. One plug in outside bathroom if you want to charge something, but no electric hook ups.

There were only two sites that looked OK for RVs, but there was a lot of room for tent camping. The park has bathrooms (closed because of COVID-19 so I can’t comment on quality), water (but no electric) and some pretty decent trails. The locals seem to drive in and out a lot, but it stopped pretty early. The river is nice. There were some ticks. Overall, it was a good stop.

We stayed at Valentine City Park for one night as we were returning east from a trip west. The park has some activity during the late afternoon and early evening but by 7:30pm was quiet. We found a nice spot by the river. Enjoyed sitting out and relaxing for the evening. There is water available to fill tank. Cell service is very good.

Nice city park. Local traffic is heavy. We were there in January, and there were no bathrooms, no electricity, no water, and warm weather gave us sloppy wet muddy sites (they have on the entry side of the park 4 sites to choose from). It used to be free to camp there, but basically, you now get charged $5.00 a night to stay on their grounds. They claim to have bathrooms and showers, but they must lock these up in the 'off' season; no facilities were available to us. We didn't see any deer, but they were there in droves judging by the piles and piles of little balled excrement everywhere you walked. Dog owners didn't pick up either, so much to look out for on a stroll. They did have a very nice frisbee golf course set up, not just the flat course with turns but up wooded hills and down, looked fun. There is a large pavilion that can be rented. Three walking bridges that carry you over a rather nice little creek. This park is located just outside of town. The town itself offers you pretty much whatever you may need.
