“Nestled in the Sierra Foothills”
Nestled in the Sierra Foothills at an elevation of 1800 feet, our 100-acre vineyard surrounding the winery boasts an impressive diversity in terrain and a total of 9 different estate grown varietals. Originally planted in 1989, the combination of climate and geography that the French call "terroir" has enabled us to produce outstanding vineyards of incredible quality and balance. As the largest vineyards in Calaveras County, our estate not only supports the needs of our own winery, but for years has sold fruit to the renowned Carneros Creek, Stag's Leap, and Rodney Strong wineries. From the cool-loving Chardonnay to the heat-seeking Sangiovese, dozens of micro-appellations exist within our estate, allowing us to carefully adapt our vineyards around their terroir. As a result, our red varietals demonstrate deep, earthy, Burgundian undertones, while our whites show a lovely, crisp, fruit driven quality.
