“home of the world's 1st water elevator”
The worlds only water elevator that lifts you to the highest point of the terraced pools. Basically it's an enclosed cylinder (but open at the top) that houses a circular bench similar to an inflatable tube with a fixed guide in the middle that fills up by waterfall from above and raises about 10 people at a time in about 5 minutes. Once at the top, there are several small pools (about 3 or 4) that are interconnected by mini water slides. You end up in a mini raging river (not deep, around 4' or so) that leads to another pool with a swim up grotto bar with rock bar stools in the water and even a rock seating booth in the water. From here there's a wide and raging slide that shoots you into the lazy river. Here's where you find the rope swing. Further down the lazy river is the main pool with one part that features a sandy beach." The Grand Wailea Resort features the best pools and water activities in Maui. Our Wailea Canyon Activity Pool is for the kid in everyone, with waterslides, rapids, a rope swing and much more. Our elegant Hibiscus Pool, reserved for adults, is a romantic retreat for sun and relaxation. The 4,850-square-foot Hibiscus Pool is named for the giant Hibiscus flower inlaid on the bottom of the pool made from over 630,000 pieces of Mexican glass mosaic tile. The entire pool contains over 2.2 million individual tiles and features two Jacuzzis. This pool is reserved for guests 18-years of age and older. Spend the day in this 2,000-foot-long, 25,700-total-square-foot, 770,000-gallon pool that consists of nine pools on six different levels. The pools are connected by a river that carries swimmers along whitewater rapids and gentle currents. Wailea Canyon includes four jungle pools, four intertwining slides, a whitewater rapids slide, a Tarzan pool with rope swing, a sand beach, six waterfalls, caves, three Jacuzzis, an infant pool, the world's first water elevator, the Lava slide, Ana Puka slide and a swim-up bar. All pool areas are open from 7:00 am - 10:00 pm. Slides are open daily from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Water Elevator is open from 11:00am - 4:00pm. Guests must meet the minimum height requirements to ride the Lava and Ana Puka slides. The Fishpipe is the world’s first rotating barrel ride. A new and unique type of water ride where you slide further than the longest water-slide further that the longest water-slide in the world! 90 seconds in the Fishpipe is like going down a mile long water slide. And Grand Wailea is the first resort in the world to have it.
