“small, peaceful & pet-friendly”

Rovers RV Park (formerly Chinook RV Park) is small, peaceful, and very pet friendly. We're centrally located on the Oregon coast, and right off the Alsea River. You can fish or kayak from our wetlands or launch your boat at the nearby public dock. Or just sit by the river, watch the birds and enjoy the spectacular view. Your pets will love our 2 acre off-leash area - and so will you! Our park has 22 large (30 ft wide) full hook-up sites with ample parking for your toad or boat. We have 12 grassy, water/electric only sites for small RVs. The park offers free high-speed Wi-Fi, restrooms, showers and a laundry. And there's a large communal green space and communal fire pit.

We stayed at Chinook for 6 weeks and could have stayed longer if we wanted to.
This park is absolutely fabulous for those of us traveling with pets. The owners are great dog lovers and they will do anything to make you and your pets feel welcome.

The park is small right on the Alsea River, with excellent amenities, washer/dryer room, full or partial hook ups, cable tv, and the wifi is free and excellent strength. I know this really is exceptional. Most parks will tell you they have free wifi but most are hardly usable and have the pace of a 2400 baud modem in the '90's.

It is not really a park for those with kids, there are no kids amenities like play grounds and they are not allowed in the river.
We especially picked Chinook RV because it breathes the simplicity that we like and that makes us feel relaxed. The proximity to the river is awesome.
The dog off leash area is also located at the river and they have a HUGE field to run and play in and get their paws wet in the river.

I am a wheelchair user and Chinook RV Park is very accessible to me. I can accompany the dogs easily to the off-leash area in my wheelchair and can even drive around on the field and getting close to the water. This depends on the tide of course, if it has been high tide the grounds can be wet on some places and you will soon get to know those areas and know you have to avoid them in order to not get stuck.
We were parked at space nr: 16, all spaces are wide and large. Our 5th wheeler is 42 ft long and we had no problem fitting in.
Park is located on Highway 34 we did have some noise from the road but not excessive. Because there are no children the park itself is quiet.

Waldport has a good variety of small shops, an excellent grocery, pharmacy, drug store, hardware store, candy store and don't forget the antique stores.
On Thursdays and Saturdays the Pacific Dough Company, a bakery with the yummiest breads, tarts and pastries is open to the public. You have to try their Raspberry tarts they are to die for.
On wednesday there is a small farmers market where you can buy all kinds of fresh produce and of course some art products.

For breakfast and lunch/dinner I can highly recommend Jamie's Dockside Diner. A little bit further up the Alsea River Jamie has her diner on the dock on the river and serves the tastiest food ever. Take your time and lounge outside on the dock while enjoying your food.

Chinook RV Park is conveniently located to all these great 'things to do'. This park management is of the highest standard that we ever experienced. They made us feel right at home and we are sorry we have to pack up and go. We certainly will be back!!

This RV park has changed its name from Chinook to Rovers to avoid confusion with other RV parks further north with the same name. This was a truly excellent place to stay. The location along the river was beautiful, the sites were spacious, and the owners were exceptionally friendly. Campsites were full hookups. The campground was not full during my stay in the second week of June. My $32 daily rate reflects a weekly rate of $225.

My site was very wide, with plenty of room for the trailer, picnic table and truck parking. The campground was very clean and quiet. The owner, Ben, held court in his man cave next to the office, where guests were welcome to play his guitars and drums, or to use his workbench and tools for any RV projects. The campground backed on to the river, accessible along a path, and seating was provided at the river's edge.

During the month of June, I stayed one week each at Bandon, here at Waldport, at Tillamook and across the river from Astoria, exploring the whole length of the Oregon coast. This stretch of coast centered on Waldport was by far the best location for spectacular ocean scenery and lighthouses.

Waldport is a nice, clean little village with a beautiful bridge over Alsea Bay. Gasoline in the village was as cheap as anywhere along the coast.

Verizon 4G was good, with 4 bars, -94 dB, 11 Mpbs down and 3 up.

I love this park. It was a great find in a small town on the Oregon Coast. It is a little inland but right by the river, so you get ocean breezes that move up the river. The owners are incredibly friendly. They love animals, so they have the most dog friendly park I have seen. They have a large off leash area by the river. It does not have a fence, but it is contained by the river, tall grass, and some trenches, so dogs can safely run free. The river is a tidal river. Between low and high tide, you'll see a change of a few feet in depth. It is amazing. My big dog liked running in the river bed at low tide. You will also see an amazing number of different birds here. We saw geese, eagles, crows, barn swallows, seagulls, osprey, egrets, and a bunch of others I don't know by name. It's like living in a nature preserve. The town of Waldport doesn't have a lot to do, but it does have the Pacific Sourdough Bakery, which is worth the drive from anywhere in the country. You do have easy access to the coast, Newport, and several great beaches, so it's a perfect spot. Verizon and AT&T were fast for streaming and video conferencing. One of my favorite parks by far.

This is our type of park. It is family owned and has a quiet homey feel. The place is people and Pet friendly as the name implies. Electricity was excellent, the water pressure was a little low at times, placement of hookups good. The laundry room has 2 washers and 2 dyers, $1.50 each. The wifi was adequate and 40 channels of cable are included. It is all about the Location of this park, It sits right on the Alsea River, known for it fishing and crabbing. The wildlife, birds, elks and seals can all be seen here. You can put your kayak in right from the park. This was an extended stay for us during Covid, we felt safe, the owners made this their top prority. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Rovers RV Park in a Travel Trailer. The ocean is just 3 miles away, with access to State Parks and beaches all up and down the coast. In the campground there is a community garden and greenhouse. The town of Waldport has a nice Ray's Grocery, and a great burger food truck, Chubby's.

This was a great campground. Very laid back. The sites were nearly full with seasonal and long-term campers. We were given a great grassy site away from the bigger rigs. The RV Park is right on the river. There's a tree-lined path down to the river where there were park benches. There's a communal fire pit and barbecues for campers use. Extremely clean bathrooms and laundry facilities. The RV park was very close to Oregon Coast towns. I highly recommend this park.
