“Camping in the shadow of Frozen Head Mountain”
There are 20 rustic campsites in the Big Cove camping area at Frozen Head. Each is equipped with a parking slip, picnic table, grill, lantern hanger, and fire ring. There are no electricity or water hookups, or dump stations, but there is a centrally located faucet for drinking water, and a basin behind the bathhouse for dish washing needs. Two group campsites with a capacity of 15-20 people are available and may be reserved online. There is also a modern bathhouse serving the campground. There are also eight primitive group campsites located at Flat Fork Primitive Group Site Area, and accommodate up to 15 people on a first-come, first-served basis.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on April 30, 2022This is an awesome place to camp. We stayed here while traveling from Nashville to North Carolina. Very clean and nice facilities. The bathrooms are the nicest campground bathrooms by far that I have used! Surrounded by trees and bordering the creek it was a very peaceful place. Would definitely stay again. There were about three to four other campers there on a Tuesday night in April. Drinking water available and wood for sale at the info station. The station was closed when we got there at around 530, so paid the ranger before leaving in the morning.

Nicely spaced sites, really nice bathroom with hot showers, awesome hiking. Camped here mid-week in April and there were plenty of sites but were sold out for the weekend. TN state parks give 25% discount to seniors. We didn't have any cell service in the CG but at the visitor center we got T-Mobile 2 bars 5G and Verizon 2 bars LTE
