“houses over 50 cars!”
The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum began in 1954 with three trolleys and a dream. Today, that dream is a reality. PTM now boasts a collection of nearly 50 cars, 150 volunteers, and 30,000 visitors each year. With your support, we can fulfill our mission to keep the Trolley Era alive for generations to come. Tours begin on the hour. Tours include: Visitor orientation video, exhibits, Trolley Ride, and a history of streetcars tour. Extended tours are offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 1 pm.
Great stop for the kids (and me) to learn a little US transportation history. Very friendly staff, small intro hall and movie room but then they trolley you to the train hall where they have the 'other' cars --- some for rebuild and some for show. Pretty nice. Active duty military are free.
