“The Birth of Texas”
Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park Association is the non profit 501 support group for Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site which includes Independence Hall, Star of the Republic Museum, and Barrington Living History Farm. Chartered in 1955 by the State of Texas, it is a statewide volunteer organization dedicated to generate support to facilitate preservation projects, celebrations, and educational programming at Washington-on-the Brazos.
Fantastically preserved piece of Texas history. Seeing how crowded the hall must have been while signing the Declaration is something else. Definitely worth a visit.
