“Restaurant and bar in Waterville, ME”
Silver Street has been a centerpiece of downtown Waterville since the early 1900’s. Originally, the building was home to Giguere’s Clothing Store, hence the ornate “G” on the beautiful stained-glass windows. In the early 1970’s, a major renovation transformed this structure into a landmark restaurant known as the Silver Street Tavern, and so it operated for more than 30 years. Growing up only blocks away, I remember the crossfire of opinion as the beautiful and scantily clad lady was hoisted to the corner of Main Street to provide signage for the restaurant. As time passed, the naysayers soon grew to appreciate the artistry of the sculptor and the beauty of this mysterious woman. Who she is, we do not know. However, we do know that this timeless lady is a symbol of downtown Waterville at its finest moment and we welcome her back to our city. Silver Street Tavern is open for lunch starting at 11am and is open until 1am, Tuesday thru Saturday. Silver Street Tavern is now OPEN for business with lunches starting at 11am and staying open for Happy Hour starting at 3pm til 5pm offering 1/2 price cocktails, drafts and glasses of wine. The specials continue into the night with 1/2 price Grilled Pizza every Tuesday, $7 on all Steak Burgers every Wednesday and 1/2 price bottles of wine every Thursday. Nightly entertainment is offered every night with Karaoke on Tuesday, Open Mic Night on Wednesday and Acoustic Music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Silver Street Tavern is open from Tuesday through Saturday. We look forward to your visit.
