Humboldt Redwoods State Park

We drove through as we were on the Avenue of the Giants. The forest is beautiful! Our favorite part was actually going down Bull Creek Road. That road was beyond beautiful.It felt as if you were actually in the forest as you were driving down the road not driving past it, if that makes sense... This road I liked even more than the Avenue of the Giants. On Bull Creek Road, there is a road on the left that leads you to a creek and some hiking trails, I highly recommend taking this detour and hiking around, the attraction there is called Big Tree and the hiking trails are extremely easy ( once you get over the creek) there are no hills at all, just flat land. We spent only a few hours at the State Park and that was plenty for us to explore.

There is quite simply no place like this on earth. Awe inspiring. Profound. The hikes and trails and history -- all special and clear. The rangers and visitor center - great. And even driving through there are ample pull offs, so you can be totally in the majesty of it all. Get out and walk though. You won't regret it.

As you can probably imagine... It's absolutely beautiful, humbling, so moist and quiet and something not mentioned much is how amazing all the moss and ferns are as well. It's something to behold, that's for sure!

If you are travelling towards Weott and plan to stay there, then you should definitely visit the Humboldt Redwoods State Park which is the most popular attraction of the area.

You can get there by driving via the famous Avenue of Giants. Leave your car and just walk through the woods and you will realize that you are walking in fairy tale kind of scenery, forest landscape at its best!!! Great size redwoods, loads of flowers, grass, generous shades and above all serenity and bird songs. A couple of hours at the Park and you will feel totally regenerated!!!

Nature at its purest form, and surrounded by real giant trees will give you a feeling of primitive instincts!! Multiple great picture taking spots, lots of fun for both kids and adults, and well worth a special trip.

If you would like to camp, then you should choose Hidden Springs campsite. A night there equals to a totally relaxed mood, you will loose all the stress you may had in no time!!!

Formed part of our Avenue of the Giants drive... Beautiful place to stop and take pictures.

Great campground in humboldt state park. Fire pit with grill, bathrooms, water, beautiful surroundings, nice trails with pretty hikes through the redwoods. Our kids loved climbing all over huge fallen redwoods.

Great hiking. Staff at the visitor's center were very friendly and helpful.

Definitely got lost a couples times trying to find this place but once we arrived it was worth it. Great clean campsites with bathrooms and showers. With a ton of giant redwoods all around to explore, take pictures of, and just enjoy!

We camped at Burlington, the ranger was really nice. This campground is magnificent, I wish we lived closer so we could camp here more often.
