Devil's Den is a CCC masterpiece in a picturesque Ozark Valley. Lee Creek flows through the park, and the Ozark National Forest surrounds it. This valley in the renowned Ozark Mountains, ancient sedimentary mountains renowned for their natural beauty and lush oak-hickory forest, was selected as a park site in the 1930s by the CCC. The men used native materials to craft the park’s beautiful rustic-style wood and stone structures. This work includes an impressive native stone dam that spans Lee Creek in the heart of the park forming peaceful, eight-acre Lake Devil. Rental canoes and pedal boats are available at the park. Hiking, backpacking, and mountain bike trails lead to backcountry areas in the park and the surrounding Ozark National Forest.
Absolutely loved this place. The campsite was amazing. Lots of space. We were in Loop E, Site 73. It was close enough to the showers/bathroom and WiFi that it was an easy walk (about 100’), yet far enough away that we felt we had privacy. Be aware that they have WiFi at places in the park like the bath/shower building(s), but unless you are there, you are “unplugged from the world”. It was nice...but if I needed to check anything, I just walked the 100’ and used it.
In the laundry room, I enjoyed that there was a birds nest in there with a momma bird flying in and out of the window feeding her babies. Perfect for a national park! Overall peaceful.
On of favorite places to car camp or just visit for the day. Lots of easy and moderate trails to choose from and very kid friendly. Great playground area near the damn. We often take the kids down to the dam to play in the water.
Easily My Favorite Attraction on my 2000 mile road trip! This made me want to come back to Arkansas as much as possible. Not only is the drive down and back up amazing. But, the whole area is just stunning. I can't recommend this place enough!
Talk about stunning camp sites! We were surrounded by woods and the beautiful fall leaves. We got extraordinary lucky because we walked in and got a spot even though they were sold out for the next 2 months! So, call ahead! There are several hiking trials. Very clean and activities for the whole family!
