“the classic state park experience”

Twin Harbors State Park combines the essential Washington coast vacation with the classic state park experience.  A cluster of five cabins, two yurts, 115 tent and 42 RV sites give Twin Harbors a community feel. Family reunions are common, and groups of friends love to gather here.  The park’s beach trails take off through tunnels of shore pines and soon transition to sand dunes and dune grass. The driftwood-scattered beach is perfect for long walks with your sweetheart or dog, or an afternoon flying kites and playing in the sand with the kids.  Winter should not scare you off. Storm watching remains a popular activity on Washington beaches. Venture out to see white-capped waves, clouds and lightning off the coast, then dash back to your cozy shelter, dry out under blankets and sleeping bags and settle in for an afternoon of food, games and conversation. You won’t want to leave at the end of your stay. You may already plan to return with your family, your friends or your new friends from the cabin next door. Park features Twin Harbors State Park is a 222-acre camping park on the Pacific coast, 4 miles south of Westport. The area offers nature study and seaside activity along the shore, as well as the chance to relax.

Very Narrow site. Even KOA's have more room. The firepit had about 30 cigarette butts, burnt children's paint set and the neighboring sites had trash also. However every site had a laminated burn ban sign attached to the pit. Since the burn ban was probably in effect for weeks it appears they don't clean the sites. Since they put the signs up they can't say they didn't know they were littered. On Wednesday they check in station was closed due to Covid staffing problems. Unemployment at 10%, very low vacancy rates and they couldn't get temporary help? The water hydrant for water hookup would not shut off. It was fixed with a 3 dollar plastic y fitting with shut offs that worked but not in the proper off position. Potholes in the paving and puddles on the gravel lane up to 20 feet on 75 degree day. The next four sites had broken kaps on the sewer so open sewers. Ours had a cap but the trailer parking pad was lower than the sewer inlet. Apparently they haven't figured out Sh t doesn't run uphill. Paid for full hookup but didn't get it. No money to fix these things or pick up trash but 5 expensive trucks set idle all four days. Small contractors rent dump trucks when the need them if they don't use them weekly. The state pays for them.

Great location to be close to the beach! Loved walking from the campsite to the beach…easy trail. The hook up RV parking is super tight and there is no privacy…sites are right on top of each other. Best sites are 1-7 as they are pull through and you only have next door neighbors (instead of next door and behind neighbors). 4 toilets, 1 shower, bathroom in decent shape. We didn’t explore other sites but they definitely seemed roomier than the hook up sites.

We were in section B of the campground. This area's RV sites are in very close proximity to each other. Very cramped too - our fire ring was too close to the RV to use.

Access to the park is easy - right off the highway. The park itself straddles the highway, so beach access was a bit of a journey, though thankfully the speed limit for the highway in that area is only 35.

We stayed during a busy father's day weekend, so it was a bit noisy, but quieted down nicely after 9PM.

Bathrooms are OK, clean and stocked with TP. Water pressure at the site was low for us. We may have been better off filling the tank and using the pump...

Twin Harbors State Park, Grays Harbor County Washington. So, why is it that everyone goes to Open Sores (sometimes spelled "Ocean Shores") when it comes to beach camping? Twin Harbors has been around longer than the other ocean state parks, and this year they have FOUR NEW CABINS!!! No one has even stayed in them yet!! Enjoy staying inside during the stormy winter, visit Westport and the Lighthouse, and be sure to eat at Bennet's Fish Shack. Summer is too long to wait. Our friends raved about the beach and said they had a good time at the camp site so we booked a spot without looking for more info. We pulled in and knew we’d only stay one of the two nights we booked. It’s a cramped, outdated campground showing its age.

Literally when we put the slide out, out it was nearly on top of our neighbors picnic table. The trailer/RV spots are awkwardly close together. We could hear the highway from our spot too which is was a major bummer to us.

Before going to bed we went for a drive on the beach, which is really close and drove down the highway a bit. We came across Grayland Beach State Park and fell in love. We booked a spot for the next night at Grayland and got out of Twin Harbors as early as we could the next morning.

Nice park but our site 25 was a too narrow. we had very close neighbors. Did not use the Bath houses at they were closed. We camped on a grass/Gavel mix pad The water hook up required my longest hose. The Electric 30am hook up used every bit of my Electric Cord. I would recommend having extra lengths of each if you camp here. The Park filled up with weekend camping and there were a lot of noisey kids on bikes all over the place. The walk to the beach is about a 5-10 min affair but easy to navigate. I did not like the closeness to other RV's at our site and would not camp here again

Twin Harbors Beach State Park is a 172-acre camping park on the Pacific coast, four miles south of Westhaven. The area allows opportunities for nature study and seaside activity along the ocean shore, and the chance to lie in the sand and soak up the sun in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. During the 1930s, the park was a military training ground. The last remaining barracks were removed in 1977.
