“the first winery established in the Triangle area of North Carolina”
We are located in Willow Spring, North Carolina, just minutes from Raleigh. We are the first vineyard and winery established in the Triangle area of North Carolina. Our family farm consists of over 100 acres, with 9 acres of grapes and 3 acres of other fruits that we use to make our wines. We also have traditional row crops grown here as well. Prior to our vineyards we were a tobacco and small grains farm. The vineyards were first planted in 2006 and our winery opened in September 2008. The late John Quincy Adams III, “Johnny” was the founder of Adams Vineyards and was the 7th generation to live and farm on our land. Our winery is built on part of the land from original “Land Grant” from England to our ancestors. We are a family run business owned and operated by Joyce Adams (aka – Ma Joyce), Johnny’s wife and Quincy Adams, their son (now the 8th generation farmer on the farm). It is too ironic that our first Gold Medal to be awarded to Adams Vineyards would be for a wine named after our founder, “Papa Johnny’s White Bliss”.
