“Premium Pinot Noir & Syrah”
Lauterbach Cellars produces and grow very small lots ultra premium Pinot Noir and Syrah. With the first harvest in 1998 we made homemade wine . The 1999 vintage was incredible and it became apparent that we could not give away wine forever. We began the permit process for a commercial winery and in 2002 our wines became available to everyone. In 2011 we met the permit requirements to expand our production to 2500 cases with a tasting room. Call for an appointment for tasting and sales at the winery. Since 2006, all of our wines are estate bottled. We use only our grapes and all of the production is made in house. Luckily, whenever we have questions, Rod Berglund (the local wine historian, and the winemaker for Joseph Swan Vineyards) has been our wine consultant. You can see by the photo gallery that this is truly a family and friend affair. Our latest ventures are producing a Syrah Rose (first in 2006) and Syrah Port (2008). We love the chemistry involved in the production of the port , however we are not allowed to call it a port so it is Syrah Dessert Wine.
