The Louisiana Political Museum & Hall of Fame was created by an act of the Louisiana Legislature in the late 1980's. The museum is housed in the old Winnfield Railroad Depot (circa 1908) that was donated to the City of Winnfield by the L&A Railroad. After many volunteers, many long hours of arduous and sometimes challenging labor, and many monetary and material donations, the Grand Opening of the Museum was held on Huey Long's 100th birthday, August 30, 1003. . The museum has accumulated over 100,000 items of artifacts and memorabilia relating to politicians and the politics of Louisiana. Included among these items is a 1951 Chevrolet Sedan sound truck utilized by Earl Long in his last campaign, and the complete set of dining room furniture that belonged to Huey and Rose Long.General InformationOpen Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; Saturdays by appointment Closed all Federal Holidays
