This may be a decent RV Park...if you have a large RV, a car in tow, and no desire to spend any time in the campground outside their rig. For someone using it as a base to explore the park, planning to do all their recreation after getting in the car and going somewhere else in the park, it may be okay. It's a parking lot with hookups carved out of a forest. No fires, no picnic table, definitely no space.

This park did not match our family' style of travel at all, so I don't have much good to say about it. We typically travel from campground to campground, doing our sightseeing between overnights. Then when we get where we're going, we want pleasant surroundings to chill for the evening and next morning. It was nice to have showers and laundry relatively easily accessed from the campsites.

We are a family of four traveling in a 33-foot motorhome. Here's what we're looking for: A playground, stuff for the kids to do, somewhere to ride my mountain bike, beautiful scenery, fire rings, plenty of separation between us and neighbors, shaded and private sites, easy to get in and get level, electric hookups, water and dump station on site, clean showers, and not terribly expensive.

So as you can see, it's not the place for us!

You might wonder why I give an RV camp a 1 star and then say we would come again. It is because it is the only campground in the area open at that time. Bridge Bay doesn't open until the 22 May. This campground opened on the 8th May in 2015. The sites are small, the campground is horrible but.... they seem to be redoing the first 4 loops, so let's hope they re-do them l a r g e r ! There is a couple of restrooms per loop but you have to go back to the entrance to have a shower. Good news is that the power is 50amp and you have full hook up, but it is very pricey for what you get.

If you want to be in Hayden Valley and Fishing Bridge, this is where you need to stay. It takes nearly an hour from Madison/West Yellowstone and two hours at the moment because of roadworks from Mammoth/Gardiner.

While it was nice to be in the middle of the park with full hookups, that's where the benefits ended. I've never stayed somewhere more crowded. Backing into our site took about 15 minutes -- with the assist of our neighbors. Our awning extended into a tree. Our truck had to squeeze in right next to our RV and we couldn't get out on one side. The roads were a mess -- potholes galore. Sewer hookups were above ground, so every site had a trick to elevate their hoses. The great access did not make up for how poor the layout of this place was. No AT&T coverage -- Verizon had 4 bars of LTE, but it was (strangely) un-usable most of the time.

Not our favorite, even for RV Park standards. The roads were terrible, the sites super cramped. The only plus was the forest of Lodgepole pines across the road that the kids had a fantastic time building forts in.

Unfortunately, for a 27' Airstream this is the only option to stay anywhere near Yellowstone Lake. Its close to Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone (30 minutes) but because of road closures between West Thumb and Old Faithful that drive was 1 hour 45 minutes. Lame.

If you need a base camp to see this part of the park, it is probably worth it for a few nights I'd rather boondocking in West Yellowstone and drive in next time.

Internet was surprisingly spotty and frustrating.

Believe the bad reviews of this place. Crowded, cramped, expensive, horribly maintained... besides that it's awesome;)

I actually paid for 2 nights, and only stayed one. I lost $54.00 for that last night but would have gone insane if I had stayed. From here found a very nice National Forest Service CG outside the North Entrance of Yellowstone N.P. and was finally happy again. You are butt to butt and side to side with your neighbor, not fun for me. Although I will say, I talked to 3 other campers that night and they didn't mind it. One liked that it was full hookups in a National Park and the others liked the convenience to get to sites within the park. For me, not worth it. I could have literally touched my trailer and my neighbors. I was in loop D. I did see that some of the further loops, F and G had what looked like a few more feet between sites.

There is a dump station.

Spent 3 nights there in September 2016. Liked it because it was full hookup sites whereas other campgrounds within YNP do not have electrical hookups. When we were there the nightly temps were in low 20's so I appreciated that I could cut the heat on whenever I wanted to. The other campgrounds you have to cut the generator off at 8PM, not a good option in freezing weather.

Thanks to other reviews, we knew what we were getting into, and the campground met those expectations. Loops ABCD have nice smooth paved roads, with uneven gravel sites. Loops EFG have uneven dirt roads with lots of potholes, but nice paved sites. Very strange! We had some trouble backing our 37' motorhome into our site (due to tree proximity) but eventually got it done. Our site was very unlevel so we needed to drive onto some leveling blocks before using our jacks. Our tow car barely fit next to the motorhome on our camping side, leaving no space for anything else. Our view out front was a nice stand of tall pine trees, but of course out the side windows was our neighbor's motorhome just a foot or two away. Given the size of the campground we had plenty of space to walk our dog which was nice. We had no AT&T signal even with our booster. Verizon had good signal, but was completely unusable except for the most basic of functions (e.g. sending a text e-mail). The campground's location is great, which is obviously why we and others stayed there. We spent a week in West Yellowstone and did most of our sight-seeing from there, then stayed two nights in Fishing Bridge to catch a few of the eastern Yellowstone attractions. This plan worked well for us. Price was $48 plus tax came to $54 per night.

Not a great RV Park, but not a bad one either. The Colter Bay Rv Park in GTNP is nicer, however Fishing Bridge is inside the park and good jumping off place to see everything. Things are tight, we didn't have enough room to park our tow vehicle next our camper, luckily we could parallel park across the street from our spot. Loops A-D are paved roads with semi-level gravel pads and nice sewer connections, Loops E-G are dirt roads with pot holes and paved pads, but the sewer connections are raised, so you will need to elevate the dump hose.

The only reason to consider camping at Fishing Bridge is the fact that you can make a reservation. The sites are VERY close together and poorly maintained. Xanterra, the private corporation to which management of the campground has been contracted to by the NPS knows that they have 100% fill rates irrespective of campground quality. Loop C is one of the best loops. This said, your neighbor will be 8-10 feet away.
