The Big Sea is a roomy and comfortable home in the most westerly property on Yachats' premier ocean front street... it juts toward the ocean like the bow of a ship! This home has unobstructed 180-degree views of the majestic pacific ocean, crashin... We stayed at Big Sea for the 2017 Yachats Celtic Festival. The home's location on the rocky shore is perfect for storm watching and within easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and the 804 trail. It is certainly worth 5 stars.

Sadly, the condition of the house only warrants 3 stars. The house is well lit, has a small yard facing the ocean, had the amenities you expect and I understand welcomes dogs. However, upon entering the house there is a pronounced “doggy” smell and especially prominent near the kitchen. We own a dog and often bring her with us to the beach, though not this time, so are familiar with homes that allow our four legged kids. This is the first house we’ve rented where we’ve encountered this issue. The house is carpeted which could be add to the problem. I did address this and several other issues with Ocean Odyssey, the rental company. My hope it that they will pass my comments on to the owners to make some much needed improvements.

The house would definitely benefit from an update; with it's location it could really be a gem on the Oregon coast.
