Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on March 08, 2020Southeast side of Cibola National Wildlife Refuge borders with Imperial National Wildlife Refuge. There's access to the Colorado River. No free camping but $5/day per person dry camping is available at Fisher's Landing RV Park & Resort at Martinez Lake. A good day trip from Quartzsite or Yuma. Poor Verizon cell phone service here. Cost is 5.00 per person. It is essentially boondocking so the price you're paying is for use of the land alone and if you choose to swim, use the showers (.25 for 7 minutes) or pay for food or drink. Unfortunately, we parked near someone who started their generator at 7 pm and ran it all night as far we can tell (kept my husband awake and when he woke me up, I could hear it too). Inconsiderate. I would say that this generator person was reflective of the long term people who live here. A lot of down n out, slightly scary folk. A vicious dog that I was grateful was on a leash. On a positive note, the lake (which is the reason we ventured 17 km off the main road) is pretty and the swim we had was cool and refreshing. There are better places to boondock in the area - Quartzsite further north or lots of options closer to Yuma.
