Pennington Bay

Pennington Bay sits on the south coast of Kangaroo Island en-route to the Dudley Peninsula. It is accessible via an unsealed road that runs off of Hog Bay Road. It is a stunning bay that is famous for its surfing. In fact, it offers some of the best surfing on the island.

The water at Pennington Bay is not always ideal for swimming, though the stunning scenery is a great place to take some magnificent photographs. Fishing can be enjoyed here, but for many the main draw of the bay is surfing. Still, caution should be taken as the waves can be quite rough and large at times.

Dolphins and whales can often be spotted swimming and playing in the water at Pennington Bay. Visitors are advised to come equipped with a camera and binoculars to truly enjoy the beauty of the bay and its wildlife.

The beach is surrounded by some stunning bush land, which is home to a variety of wildlife. There is one resort in Pennington Bay, which is actually a two bedroom house that can sleep up to six people. This secluded retreat is a great place for some privacy, while being surrounded by bush land and enjoying views of Pennington Bay.
