“Restaurant and dining room at Paperbark Camp - Eat dinner in the tree tops.”
The Gunyah (aboriginal for meeting place, or place of shelter is the heart of the camp) is the restaurant and dining room at Paperbark Camp, a peaceful bush retreat offering unique luxury tented accommodation just outside of Huskisson, Jervis Bay. Designed by Sydney architects Nettleton Tribe, it is a unique space, built high off the ground to enjoy the sea breeze and a wonderful position amongst the tree tops. In the warmer months the sliding doors open up for outdoor dining on the verandah, providing a bushy backdrop to candlelit meals and to observe the goings on of our resident possums, sugargliders and colourful birdlife. In winter an open fire with cosy lounges is the perfect place to curl up on after dinner with a nightcap, perhaps swap a few travelling tales with other guests, or enjoy a game of cards. Guests are welcome to use the free Wi-Fi and help themselves to some tea or coffee during the day (or for some, the middle of the night!). It also makes for a beautifully romantic wedding venue and inspirational space for small meetings and corporate retreats. Our Sundowner deck is the perfect place to meet for a late afternoon drink, enjoy some tasty bar snacks and watch the changing light of the bush. Featuring regularly in the Good Food Guide, dining in the candle lit dining room is a highlight of a stay at the camp and the restaurant is also open to non-resident guests. Please note bookings are essential and the restaurant is regularly booked out during busy holiday periods and at the weekend.
