“splish-splash around!”
Located in the Cherokee National Forest, Holston Mountain Area. On the right side of the parking area is a marked trail that takes you down to 4 waterfalls that make up Blue Hole Falls and down to the plunge pool. It is a short hike and the scenery is beautiful. Cold, very beautiful and small swimming hole, never crowded. A primo swimming hole! Small, beautiful rocky gorge with cliffs as high as fifty feet with several cascading pools. Blue Hole is approximately 40 ft. by 30 ft. and estimated to be 15 ft. deep at its deepest point. There is a 20 ft. cliff adjacent to it where people jump off into it. And more . . There is another trail that leaves from the left of the parking area. This trail moves closely along a high ridge above the falls.
Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Nobody was there in early October when I went. Cold water on a cold ish rainy day but still went swimming. Loved.
Eh. I enjoyed the picture more. The trail was a mess. Crowded place even though it was a big challenge to get to it. Pretty, but not worth the hassle.
very cool stop. Unmarked and off the beaten path. Worth it. Very cool. Slippery short walk down to the falls. slippery rocks in the water. Beautiful clear water. Beautiful waterfalls. Absolutely recommend
Fun stop. Definitely slippery and didn't attempt to jump from the ledge due to the rocks jutting out from underneath. Local kids were jumping and nervous watching.
Went camping here with some friends. I would recommend to any avid camper or outdoorsmen. Great hiking trails!
Love this place! Very cold water in July, but breathtakingly beautiful and an easy hike (besides the stairs and yellow jackets).
I went on a weekday in November. I was the only person there. The trail down is VERY steep, slippery from fallen leaves and recent rain. The falls are pretty, the swimmin' hole is actually blue-ish.
I was shocked seeing people drinking beer openly in front of kids and jumping from here. At another falls over the TN line in NC Elk River falls says not allowed due to the deaths that have happened. One girl hurt her arm bad and was screaming and crying for over 20 min. I saw water bottles etc left behind. I would not stay more than an hour to get wet. It pretty and there is a ledge in the water that one mistake you could fall or hit side of before you may touch what small area of 15 ft deep there is on days lots of rain went through. Needs to be monitored more.
Absolutely gorgeous! Worth the drive!
The ride there was twisty, fun, and very much worth it. Unfortunately it was extremely cold the day that I visited
