“An urban oasis in the heart of Midtown Atlanta”
Piedmont Park is Atlanta's premier urban green space. With an estimated 3 million visitors annually, it is the most visited free amenity in Georgia. Piedmont Park Conservancy is the nonprofit organization, working with the City of Atlanta for the preservation of historic Piedmont Park. The Conservancy has successfully transformed the once dilapidated Park into an urban oasis in the heart of Midtown Atlanta.
This place was fine to get out and walk around but not many water fountains and not much shade over the playground or walking paths. Not much parking either. If you want to bike around this an expansive park and good place to do so. It looks like they have rental bikes as well.
Monday – Friday from 3pm – 5pm the pool is FREE. Other times it is more affordable than most county aquatic centers. Kids under 5 are only $1…going up to $4 for adults. There are lap lanes, fountains, a lazy river, a zero-entry play area for the kids, concessions and lockers.
Picnic with the family. Go for a run or walk down the beautiful paths. Play sports. Fish. bring your dogs. The park is where they host a variety of big events like the annual Atlanta Pride Festival, the Atlanta Jazz Festival, the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, Music Midtown, and Festival Peachtree Latino.
