“Toys take Manhattan”

The FAO Schwarz flagship store in New York City is a must-see destination in the Big Apple, bringing the 150-year legacy of the beloved brand to life for visitors of all ages. Filled with toys beyond kids’ wildest dreams – from a huge lion and other stuffed animals of every kind to a larger-than-life piano – amazing opportunities for fun can be found around every corner. The store offers first-class customer service via dedicated personal shoppers to help customers find the perfect presents, in addition to an awe-inspiring, world-renowned retail presentation and a vast array of incredible playthings.

As visitors travel to the Concourse Level, they are greeted by the famous face of the FAO Schwarz Clock Tower, originally displayed in the store from 1986 through 2004. Newly positioned above the escalator leading down to the Baby Department, the friendly face once again plays the classic theme song, ''Welcome to Our World of Toys,'' the signature tune that greeted customers for 18 years.

Featured in multiple films, including, most famously, Big, where Tom Hanks plays the giant piano!

The toys are way overpriced, but you aren't going here to shop - you're going here to be stunned by the massive toy store... and to recreate that scene from "Big". The piano is still there, and it's awesome, and free!

Awesome toy store, big hits were Legoland, the piano, naturally, and the dollhouse area was fantastic.

Convenient to the Apple Store, Central Park and a whole lot of 5th Avenue shopping.

The piano is free to dance on and surprisingly wasn't very busy when I went during Midday. You get 2 minutes to dance and it's fun to try and recreate big. The whole toy store is pretty cool and interesting and includes practically every toy brand imaginable.
