“Golden sunrises, silver moonlit evenings”
Grayton Beach consistently ranks among the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the United States. Grayton Beach State Park provides an idyllic setting for swimming, sunbathing and surf fishing and is the backdrop for golden sunrises and silver moonlit evenings. The nearly 2,000-acre park features a boat ramp that provides access to the lakes brackish waters for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. Visitors can paddle a canoe or kayak on scenic Western Lake to get a closer look at a salt marsh ecosystem. A nature trail winds through a coastal forest where scrub oaks and magnolias stand, bent and twisted by the salt winds. Hikers and bicyclists can enjoy more than four miles of trails throughout the pine flatwoods. Options for overnight stays include modern cabins and a full-facility campground.

Campgrounds are in great condition, not far away from the beach.
Great crystal waters, clean white sand and not overcrowded.
Great for spending the weekend or even more time to relax with the family of friends.
I'll just agree with what others have written. Great campground, with great sites, in an ideal location. We stayed in the newer loop and were happy with the privacy. The older loop is even better, but you lose sewer, and a lot of the sites are smaller. Our only complaint - and it's very minor - is that some of the sites need to be re-graded. We actually stayed in 3 different sites while there and 2 of them required blocks... one of them, a LOT of blocks. Otherwise, it's just a fantastic campground in a fantastic place. The beach is gorgeous and the town has everything you could need.

I wanted to stay here for quite some time, because of friends who have been here. I will say I loved my site. It was very private. I loved the beach. Beautiful, but I didn't like that the beach was so far away from the campground. I had my bike which made it better, but I guess I was spoiled by St. Joe Peninsula SP. I liked that the laundry was free. The restrooms were clean. The overall park seemed tight. That being said, I would love to come back and experience it for a longer stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Grayton Beach! The beaches, restaurants and shops along 30A are fantastic. The campground is very nice because the sites are huge and quite private. However, there is one huge issue in the older section! The trees and brush are so overgrown that it was nearly impossible backing our 29ft travel trailer into site 018. We actually sustained quite a few scratches on the back and top of the trailer. The ranger even commented that the overgrowth has been a huge issue for many campers. Please keep in mind that the overgrown sites are all in the older section.

Lucked out and snagged a coveted site on the lake due to a last minute cancellation. We were in the “old” section and the sites are generous and private with many trees separating the sites. Very quiet. Bathrooms/showers were clean (although the paths to them were a little jungle like). Canoe and kayak rentals available although we did not use. Would have been nice to have bike rentals available but they are in town. We walked into the town of Grayton Beach for lunch. Nice white sand beach but not as flat and walkable as others. The only reason we would not stay hstay here again is because, for us, there was not much to do except beach walking.

This is a wonderful state park. The sites are large, flat and well maintained with crushed gravel. We were in the 30/50 amp full hook up loop but they have a 2nd loop that's water/electric only with dirt sites.
You can walk or bike to the beach (about .60 mile). The beach is gorgeous. Emerald waters with white, powdery sands. I have not seen a nicer beach. The staff was friendly and the campers were quiet and respectful.
Bathrooms were clean.
Cell service was good. Verizon 47d/l and ATT 16 d/l unboosted. I didn't try T mobile.
OTA was excellent with most major channels plus extras.
The nearby areas had lots of shopping and dining. Check out Watercolor and Seaside. They were the cutest little beach towns and reminded me a little of Key West.
The only negative I could mention is the dogs were not happy that they weren't allowed on the beaches. Nor were they pleased with the abundance of sticker balls that kept getting in their feet. There is a nice nature trail at the beach parking lot that dogs are allowed on and the nearby towns were very dog friendly.
There's also a very long off street paved walking/biking path that will take you into the towns. I think it was something like 20 miles in length.
There's a good laundromat (EZ Coin Wash) 9 miles away. Overpriced but very clean with a decent amount of large machines (triple loaders). 2 close Publix stores for groceries.

We were just passing through and only needed 1 night stay. We messed up our dates online but they were super kind and helpful and fixed it for us. The campsites are private, level, lots of room, small graveled lots so no worry about sand or dirt getting everywhere. We stayed 5/6/23 and it was $30/night. Full hook ups, decent bath house. Coin washer and dryers. We took the motorcycle to the beach access. It was a short walk from the parking lot to the beach. The beach was beautiful, quiet, perfect! We only wish we would have known about this place sooner!

Just like another recent reviewer, we stayed in site #56 as well. It felt VERY private due to the nice foliage. The sites on that side of the loop are gravel and we were impressed that they are raked before each new traveler arrives. Be careful when booking bc the lower loop of sites are tight/low hanging trees…it’s stated on the website fyi. Having full hook ups at a state park was so awesome!!
We stayed for a week in august. We only had our motor home and bikes. If we did it again we would have either towed a vehicle or planned to rent a golf cart. The golf carts are like $150/day (yikes!) but you can drive them on 30A. The closest shops/restaurants are in the town of Grayton Beach and it’s 1.5 miles on bike…not bad if it’s morning or evening but brutal in the daytime sun.
Also the beach is a 1/2 mile away. So we rode our bikes each day but it got a little cumbersome. A bike trailer would have been helpful. There is no camp store. You can buy ice and firewood at the rangers station and that’s it. I can’t say enough how gorgeous the beach and sand dunes are!!

There were several large 5th wheels. But it looked very tight for them. Some sites are different sized. Gravel which is a bummer. But otherwise a fabulous place! Beach is walking distance. But it is a long walk. We ended up driving to the beach.

I love Grayton Beach! It’s beautiful clear water and white sand is unreal! The park rangers here are amazing! Our RV broke down while we were here and they were so helpful and accommodating!
The only downside is that you usually need to book in advance, because it’s so perfect in every other way!
