John D. MacArthur Beach State Park

If you are a beach lover; a very special oasis awaits you at the end of a 1;600-foot boardwalk; which spans the most productive estuarine system in all of Lake Worth Cove. The Beach spans nearly 2 miles of the clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The walk from the parking lot to the beach is a beautiful walk; but if you have kids and "beach stuff" you may opt to take the free tram. Fishing - On shore surf fishing is allowed with a fishing license. Snorkeling; Scuba Diving - Scuba diving and snorkeling are permitted. Marine life is abundant on the reef and rock outcroppings that lie in shallow water near the beach. Reef squid; colorful tropical fish and schools of tarpon and snook are a source of delight for snorkelers. Open daily from 9 to 5; the Welcome and Nature Center is your best source of information about the Park. The Ranger or Volunteer will greet you at the Information Desk; provide details on daily or future events; answer your questions and assist you in getting the most out of your visit.
