“Home of the "immortal man's grave"”
In the middle of the Cutler Cemetery in East Montpelier, there sits a very peculiar gravestone. On it, the name of a husband and wife are lovingly engraved, her having lived 79 long years, and him... well, he's 157 years old and counting. The weird gravestone was snapped by reddit user HighOverlordXenu, who said he didn't want to alarm anyone, but that there might be a vampire in Vermont. To be fair, Edward McNalty might actually be a Highlander. As much fun as it is to believe that there's an immortal man running around New England, there's a fairly good explanation for the strange headstone. According to geneology records, this was both Rosetta and Edward's second marriage, and since their marriage didn't bear any children, it's not a leap to think that Edward's kids opted to bury him next to their mom instead of his second wife. Or, you know... he's an undead creature of the night. Want to see some more weird final resting places? Head south to Connecticut where you can visit the Jewett City Vampire Graves, or head even further south to Florida where you can pay your respects to Flipper.
This cemetery is not the one described- this is a very small 20-person cemetery by the Somerset Dam (which is pretty cool in itself! Good hikes!).
