“Slither your way across this road”
With shiny fangs and a winding tail, a huge diamondback rattlesnake serves as a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over Broadway Blvd. at the Barraza-Aviation Parkway, just east of downtown Tucson. This eye-catching structure, designed by artist Simon Donovan, won an award from the Federal Highway Administration as one of the nation's best road projects. A hollow stomach serves as the covered bridge—another Tucson success in combining public art with city-improvement projects.
Passed under this bridge while in Tucson. Pretty unique!
We tried. Honestly. There were tons of homeless scattered around the bridge and really no place safe to park.
Unique bridge to drive by and take a walk over
So cool trail! Fun to walk over the highway!
