High above the North Umpqua River, is one of the Pacific Northwest's most lush hot spring oasis. Surrounded by forests and near Toketee Falls and Toketee Lake Campground and Toketee Lake Trail, lies Umpqua Hot Springs. It's just a short 0.3 mile hike to this wooded gem.

Umpqua Hot Springs Trail

The Umpqua Hot Springs Trail will take you on a short 0.3 mile through the Umpqua National Forest. Be warned, lest your puritanical sensibilities be offended, nudity is pretty common. The springs themselves are about 150 feet above North Umpqua River. There's also an on-site composting toilet.

Umpqua Hot Springs

The hot springs themselves are perched overlooking the river, and there are two to three oblong pools (two to three depending on rainfall). The largest hot spring tub has been shaped by the minerals in the spring, which has created a travertine mound, that has been formed over centuries.
