“A must-see hiking curiosity”
While its name may be a little misleading — the "flaming geysers" are actually just a small methane flames — this state park is still a great getaway an hour drive from the city. A perfect place to picnic or walk along the three mile freshwater shoreline on the Green River, Flaming Geyser State Park is a relaxing day trip worth taking.
Having been there in mid June of 2014 I can't recommend going there for either of it's "Geysers". I use the term geyser in sarcasm because they are anything but that. The bubbling geyser is a few bubbles rising out of a small mud pit up the trail and the flaming geyser is no more than a barrel buried in the ground emitting a small flame and no water around it at all. Perhaps at other time in the year its more exciting but at the very least, during the month of June, it is certainly not worth the $10 admission price.
