Great photo ops! Wished I would have thought to bring spray paint myself to leave our mark. We spend at least an hour climbing the walls and checking out the different art. Very unexpected enjoyment!

If there's one place that’s the mecca of Austin street art, it’s the Hope Outdoor Gallery on Baylor Street! We had an incredible time exploring this "living" art project when we visited earlier this spring.

We had no idea ahead of time, but you're welcome to bring your own spray paint and make an addition to the wall when you visit.

Amazing! You can climb around and there are often spray cans lying around so you can leave your mark. A great art instillation that is worth your time!

This is one of those Austin gems that really showcases what the city is all about. It’s one of the largest graffiti walls in Austin, full of life, character and charm. You can climb around and see so many different layers to the art, and it also has a pretty incredible view of downtown.

You really have to just venture out there yourself to fully appreciate it.

Amazing public art by very talented Austin artists. If you're lucky you'll see someone at work, but be sure to stand downwind as the paint is stinky and the overspray will drift.

It says it is on private property but there were a lot of people visiting today through the day, climbing around. Someone was even cleaning up lights and props as they have a theatre troupe that puts on shows here on weekends! Very interesting place, some great graffiti art (and some not-so-appealing graffiti of names and such. Don't understand how someone can scrawl "Alice loves Keith" over a literal work of art... Tacky IMO). Definitely somewhere worth seeing (and the camping gear/toy shop nearby is super cool- whole earth)

Amazing place to visit! Loved all the art big and small. I think it's really neat that you can even leave your own mark even if you aren't very talented with graffitti.

This place is called the crown on the castle. It's a climb to get to the top but worth the effort. Mostly quality art

We were on our way to this place and looked up on YELP for a dessert place in the area. This art is near a college but full of all ages you'd be surprised how young actually, or at least when we were there, just this past Sunday by 5pm). We found a little area just a few blocks away with food trucks and wanted to try CTC... "Cow Tipping Creamery" but they were closed on Sunday so we looked up food network and found AMY'S and bought sundaes to eat along the way, only to realize it was 3 minutes away, driving distance. We were navigated to the top of the hill, next to some small little castle home. It looked amazing but it suddenly felt like private property. Don't worry! There's this fence next to this guys home, and the door always stays open. You can temporarily park your car there, as everyone else is doing, and go through those doors. Then it will suddenly hit you, just how massive and awesome of a concept this place is! :) Don't let the area intimidate you because if you're not used to this type of environment, it can make you uncomfortable. It seems like a regular hang out spot for these locals and they mix well with tourists. I rated it a 4 because as awesome as it is, it was not well kept; garbage everywhere, sticks and branches thrown in huge piles, latex gloves tossed around from people who just painted and threw them around, etc. I would recommend that you wear proper shoes but nothing u love because it might get ruined with the dirt steps or getting into the messes people have left behind. ...as for the art itself, you'll have amazing artists painting beautiful things and then dumb asses, just spray painting their names on top...or random lines and designs, just ruins the overall feel of this place (for me). There was an unofficial truck parked right in front of this place and people lined up for pre packaged ice cream cones and Popsicles, not sure if that was just for that day or if that guy is always there, kinda sketchy though. Overall, I would still say, you should visit at least once. You have probably never seen anything like this before!! Oh and as some people mentioned, you can bring your own paint to contribute too. People are constantly painting. If you're sensitive to paint/paint can smells, then beware!! Come prepared. :)
