“home to the largest alligator in Texas”
Gator Country is an alligator theme park where guests can see the lifespan of an alligator and get up close and personal with nature’s wild. With hands on activities like holding the baby gators to helping feed them, the whole family will find something to enjoy. There's even a gift shop to bring home a souvenir from your trip! Gator Country has over 350 alligators and 4 species of crocodiles along with Caimans, alligator snapping turtles, snakes and other reptiles. It is also home to the largest alligator in captivity in Texas, “Big Al”. Weighing in at 1,000 pounds and almost 14 feet in length, Big Al is definitely Gator Country’s main attraction.
This place was fantastic! We had a really great guide and learned a lot about all the reptiles they had. Everyone was very knowledgeable, and super friendly.
The tour was hot but we loved it the kids got to handle baby alligator and get in the water with them. The tour was really informative definitely worth a visit very family friendly.
Really neat place. The staff was very helpful and funny. My kiddos really enjoyed the place. They also have reptiles in the front and an open hatchling area where you can see the baby gators. Good for all ages.
This is an awesome must see place. The staff is the best.
Cool place! We all had fun!
This place is terrible. Road not paved. Animaks live in squalor. No docents. We saw patrons teasing the gators and children mishandling the babies. Animal welfare needs to come to the rescue of these animals.
