The staff and volunteers at Miller Park Zoo were amazing. We spent 2 hours on a rainy spring day! The exhibits were educational, but not overwhelming like we have found at other zoo. We had a hard time getting our 2 year old to leave. Miller Park Zoo was a perfect break/stop along our roadtrip.
Absolutely worth a stop. Although it is a smaller zoo, they have a fun range of exotics. More importantly, they care enough to have cages with a variety of natural physical structures (water features, logs, etc) and animal enrichments. I was lucky and the visit timed with gibbon/bear/tiger/snow leopard feeding time. They have a walk-through area with wallabys and wallaroos roaming free. Nice grounds, friendly people, not too far off the interstate. Absolutely worth $7.00 to support this little zoo.
Nice little zoo. Have to pay a few bucks per person to get in but it's not much and worth it to help the zoo keep going. You'll spend a couple hours there unless you let the kids run around at the pretty good sized park just outside. Just not enough animals to spend all day walking through. Overall, it's a nice stop or addition to a trip, but shouldn't be the main reason you take a trip there.
