“find your marbles at the moon”
We have made wooden toys and game boards for many years, but always had difficulty finding varieties of marbles for our product. We wanted marbles that we had as children like Bumble-Bees, Cub Scouts, Puries, and so on. In 1997 this "need" led us to the opening of the Moon Marble Company store. The store is located near the intersection of K-32 & Hwy 7 in Bonner Springs, KS. We stock machine made marbles in a multitude of colors and designs in sizes from pee-wees to 50mm. In addition, we carry traditional toys & games as well as gift items for all ages. Artisan and owner Bruce Breslow frequently demonstrates his marble making. During demonstrations, Bruce will explain the process of glass working, marble history, and other fascinating areas of marble interest. We also exhibit and sell the work of several dozen prominent glassworkers from across the country.
Our party of 6 with ages ranging from 7-58 thoroughly enjoyed this stop. It seemed a bit out of the way for our road trip but we are super glad we came. It was hard to choose to buy only one thing! We could have spent the whole day wandering around this store. We missed the marble making and we would have liked to see that. Maybe next time we are in the area!
This is an unexpected joy in Kansas! It is pretty small shop so be patient. You will find great old fashioned toys here. I bought a bobble head Jesus for my dashboard. What fun! Oh and remember those old glass drinking birds? Yes, I bought one of those there too. The kids bought a tube of marbles that were beautiful! Make sure you stop in here.
According to Moon Marble's website, they are in Kansas, not Kentucky
This is a delightful place! The magic of the older toys and the memories they bring back for those of us old enough to remember them does not mean that kids who have no idea what that game is are bored. Not at all! Just the store in itself offers everyone something. There is plenty to see and look at and see and if you want a certain game for kids, grandkids or yourself, you will most likely find it. We browsed for over an hour remembering and just being happy. We bought a few items for our grandson that were less expensive and yet still fun bathtub toys. What made the trip in well worth it was the marble demonstration. We managed to catch two and the art that has a label of marble ends up being the highlight of the trip to the store. I highly recommend it! It is different, fun, filled with memories for those of us over 40 and the marbles are amazing!
100% worth the little bit off the route. Myself and three friends stopped on our roadtrip to Denver. It was amazing. A must see!! Great gifts for anyone on your list.
Nice place; good people. Worth the drive. The marble-making demo is fun. And some of the toys there are unique and interesting.
Closed on Sundays :( we really wanted to stop in but unfortunately they weren't open when we passed thru town.
Went there with my kids ages 3, 9, and 13. Very cool store with "vintage" toys and novelties. They also do demonstrations of marble making! Show you step by step. You can also purchase the marble you watched be created or the thousands of others they have there.
A good stop to break up a drive. Glad we added it to our itinerary. The marble making demo was very neat. It is in the very back of the shop. Bought each person a prepackaged set of marbles only 3.00 a bag, with a shooter! Then played as a family that night at our hotel. Thank you Moon Marble; another generation has taken a liking to marbles.
Go see a demo.
