“experience early america”

We’re an entirely new kind of museum, where you’ll not only view artifacts of historical importance, you’ll also have an all-encompassing, multi-sensory experience.

At the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, our museum experience will transport you on an incredible journey back in time as you take part in the famous event that forever changed the course of American History! Located on the Congress Street Bridge in Boston, Massachusetts, this floating Boston Museum is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before. Live actors, high-tech, interactive exhibits, authentically restored tea ships and the stirring, multi-sensory documentary “Let it Begin Here,” are just a taste of what you’ll see, hear and feel.Meet the colonists, explore the ships and dump tea overboard just as the Sons of Liberty did on that fateful night of December 16, 1773. Stop in at Abigail’s Tea Room for teatime and visit the Gift Shop for special souvenirs. It’s educational, entertaining and enlightening — an experience not to be missed by adults and children of all ages.

We had so much fun touring this museum. Such great "characters" were involved in the experience. Almost made us feel like we were living during that time period. Very clean and very easily accessible once inside. BUT... The parking is atrocious. Tourists that aren't acquainted with big city rudeness should be wary when searching for parking. We found a lot 5 blocks away and walked to the museum. Not too bad once we found it.

Our timing was off and we missed the tour, however I would go back because we did walk around the area and it was clean and interesting. We had tea in the tea room which was fairly inexepensive $2.50 a cup or $6.00 for a whole teapot to split. The workers thare are all in costume and there are little revolutionary era board games for kids or adults to play while checking out the view or trying one of the three types of tea. The employees are really friendly and they have some desserts you could purchase as well. I had the boston cream pie and some of the same tea that would've been thrown over the ship at the time. both were good. I could see this attraction is good for both adults and children. During the tour there are large fake (lightweight foam) boxes of tea they have kids throw in the harbor and it seems like fun.
