The ''Allentowner'' spoke about Dreamland with optimism shortly before its opening as the new epicenter of Buffalo's DIY arts scene, imperiled and losing steam in the wake of the demise of '''The Vault''' and the conversion of Elmwood Avenue's '''Nobody's Gallery''' into the more conventional art space '''Filigree's'''. As advertised, the loose collective that has set up shop in this beautifully restored Italianate mansion is a patchwork of artists, performers and creative types that don't fit comfortably in to any well-defined niche. In addition to private artists' studios and gallery space for solo and group exhibitions, Dreamland hosts events such as pay-what-you-can figure drawing sessions open to the community, as well as avant-garde performance-art acts.
Really really cool space, a lot of interesting and exciting stuff going on here in the art/music world? Read more
