this koa is a short 7 miles from I-70, just west of denver. the road up to the site from I-70 has 6-8% grade. it’sa new campground that’s very well organized and has everything you need (except a little shade). loved the pad with separate patio, deck chairs/table and umbrella. the shower facilities are clean and free. there’s $5 pancake breakfast.

We stayed overnight here because it was close to I-70. The campground was clean, and the staff was nice. The view was beautiful. Might be a little expensive for what you get, but for the convenience to the highway and ability to get in and out with no fuss, I was ok with the price. The site was level, had convenient locations for all of the hookups including multiple sewage locations in the event your rig has front or rear outlets (or both).

Definitely a top 5 KOA!
Wifi was EXCELLENT! (Good since cell is a bit spotty/weak)
Playground was excellent!
Pancakes and pizza were both excellent!
Sites were spacious and clean and scenic.
The location is a bit out of the way - this is not that close to Denver - 40 min drive but if you want to be out in the mountains it’s lovely. The nearby towns are quirky - this casino city thing was not something we expected. But nearby are hikes, state parks, mountains, gold mines, and general beauty.

Nice mountain campground. All full hook-up services worked fine. Wi-Fi worked well. T-Mobile 4G was fast, too. Cable TV had a good selection of channels, including various sports channels in HD.

Made this our stop from camping in Reverends Ridge. Perfect place to regroup. We dumped and filled our tanks, did some laundry and had a great dinner in Idaho Springs. The staff was very friendly. WiFi was perfect.
Would stay again.

Beautiful park. Site 57 back-in, has beautiful views of the mountains and valley. Directly behind is a housing development. I booked last minute, moved to site 45, back in, tree lined space. The people working at the KOA are so kind and helpful! I hope to come back again.

I generally refer to KOA as ‘Kids All Over’. We try to avoid them. Sometimes they are the only game in town. This location was what we needed in our travels on I70 over the Rockies. I’ll dub it ‘King Of them All’. Admittedly, during the off season, we have stumbled across some good KOA locations. This, definitely due to the site we had, was the best! Great staff. I took advantage of the on-site pizza. Great price for a very good pizza. Outstanding experience.

One of the nicest KOAs we’ve found in our travels. Immaculate grounds. Majestic views of the mountains. All hookups worked well. Close to town if you need to pick up a few things. Didn’t meet any staff or use the facilities except the playground and fenced dog run, which were both well-maintained. Couldn’t believe just how quiet it was at night.

We stayed 5 nights and found the entire staff very friendly. Our site had a very large patio with furniture and very nice fire pit. Must explore the town of Central City. A lot of history with a lot of old buildings
