“located right in the heart of Chestertown”
The restaurant is located in the heart of Chestertown, Maryland’s Historic District and is open Monday through Saturday for dinners beginning at 5:00pm. Reservations are recommended for weekends and for parties of 5 or more. Owner and manager Paul Hanley, a graduate of Cornell University’s famous Hotel School, founded Blue Heron Café in 1997. Chef Eugene Bethel’s personal touch is on everything served. He has been on board since the inception near 14 years ago. In fact, the entire 8 member crew has been with the Cafe a combined tenure of over 70 years! There’s no doubt you’ll see familiar, smiling faces and be treated with unmatched experience and professionalism. It’s in these comfortable surroundings, the kitchen prepares innovative and classic American Regional cuisines. Its diverse menu includes fresh seafood, Maryland Crab Cakes, steaks, chops, pastas, vegetarian dishes and their famous Oyster Fritter. The restaurant has an extensive wine list and an irresistible array of all-homemade desserts. They make their own bread too!
