The Uno® story begins in Chicago in 1943 when Ike Sewell developed deep dish pizza and opened a new type of restaurant at the corner of Ohio & Wabash. It was here that Ike served a pizza unlike any that had been served before. Buttery 'out-of-this-world' crust that had a tall edge like a fruit pie. He created a recipe that combined authentic Italian spices and quality tomatoes with more cheese than people could believe and then baked it for nearly an hour. When people tasted it, they wanted more of the same and the lines have been forming ever since to get into the restaurant.

If you visit Chicago and decide to go to Uno's for your pizza, you deserve the fucking diarrhea.
For our first visit to Chicago of course we had to stop in and try a deep dish pizza from Uno's. Everyone was very friendly and staff was very personable. Wait was long but you can call in your order to cut down on cook time since pizzas take an hour. Overall its a must see for your Chicago bucket list.
I found the pizza and other food here to be really good. the crust on the pizza was perfect and the filling very tasty. Be warned, the wait is very long, especially on weekend nights. They recommend ordering your pizza when you put in for the wait list as it tends to run at least 45 minutes. We ordered take out and carried it back to our hotel. It was very nice to just show up, grab our food and avoid the crowds.
Downside is there are very few options for people with food allergies. Make sure check out the menu before going to wait 45 minutes to find out there is nothing for you to eat.
