“Now that's a good view”

Step out and enjoy a view like you’ve never experienced before at Skydeck Chicago’s The Ledge. Located on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, the Ledge’s glass boxes jut out from the side of the skyscraper, offering unparalleled views of Chicago and four neighboring states.

About The Willis Tower:

Willis Tower (formerly named and still commonly referred to as Sears Tower) is a 108-story, 1,451-foot (442 m) skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois. At the time of its completion in 1973, it was the tallest building in the world, surpassing the World Trade Center towers in New York, and it held this rank for nearly 25 years. The Willis Tower is the tallest building in the United States and the seventh-tallest freestanding structure in the world. The skyscraper is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Chicago, and over one million people visit its observation deck each year.

Named the Sears Tower throughout its history, in 2009 Willis Group Holdings obtained the right to rename the building, as part of their lease on a portion of its offices. On July 16, 2009, the building was officially renamed the Willis Tower. On August 13, 2012, United Airlines announced it will be moving its corporate headquarters from 77 West Wacker Drive to the Willis Tower.

Went early spring in the evening after the sun had gone down. Still a crowd, but the wait didn't seem too bad. Going at night it was cool to see the city all light up as far as the eye could see. The whole glass ledge thing was definitely a unique experience. Even if you can be a bit shaken by heights like me, I recommend the challenge! We also happened to get tickets ahead of time from a vendor on the street which allowed us to skip the ticket line, so keep your eyes peeled if you like skipping lines!

My fiancee asked me to marry him on the skydeck after dark... with the city lit up under and around us, it was magical. :) I highly recommend, worth the visit. Also, if you buy tickets through expedia, you'll save a buck and a half each ticket... not a huge discount, but it's something.

The views are unbelievable as you can imagine, and stepping out onto the glass is a kind of freaky experience that really goes against your better nature. The other fun part is the elevator up, it shoots up so high & fast your ears will pop. Don't forget this was the world's tallest building for a while back there!

Chicago Skydeck is totally worth the $19 pp. My children are afraid of heights, so my wife is and I decided to take the tour to the upper floors on my own. Had to wait for 30' at the queue but it was well worth it.

I had my camera with me and took some amazing photographs of Chicago. It is amazing how small, we people are, when looking from this point of view.

Great experience but I wouldn't recommend it to people that are afraid of heights.

The views from up here are really really awesome. Your not allowed tripods (for the photographers among us) but if you go up just around sunset it will blow your mind! The actual skydeck experience is pretty cool but when I was here there was a 30 person line minimum for the entire 3 hours I was up here!
The experience is worth the wait and the views are worth the $$

Wait was so bad. The view is cool but not worth the time, money, and sheer boredom of the 2 1/2 hour wait. Granted we went on a Sunday in the summer, hopefully it's not as bad year round.

If you are going on a holiday weekend plan on waiting in line for a long long time. We went 4th of July week and waiting in line for 3.5+ hours. The skydeck itself and the tower are absolutely awesome but the price and the wait for a picture on a holiday weekend are not worth it. I went once before several years ago mid-week no holiday and it was fast and okay but this time it was probably the worst part of our entire cross country trip.

Wait wasn't bad for early visit! Very unique experience. Loved the view from all different angles! Everyone who got off the elevator gasped as they were amazed by the stunning view. Highly recommend visiting the Skydeck!
