“Hong Kong style Chinese barbecue”
When Sun Wah BBQ was opened in Chicago, principal founder Eric Cheng sought to bring Hong Kong style Chinese barbecue to the American conscience. As his children grew up, each has specialized in their own way to help fulfill their parents dream. Eldest daughter Kelly wields her business degree from DePaul to ensure a smooth daily operation. After his service in the military, son Michael draws from his years of apprenticeship in roasting the house specialties. Youngest daughter Laura is a Kendall trained executive chef who sources the restaurant's freshest ingredients.
Uptown's classic Chinese barbecue joint remains one of the best places in town for traditional multi-course Peking duck. Order a tofu dish or three, too: Sun Wah has its own tofu factory.
