“Loads of junky folk art in this fake ghost town!”
Scrap metal sculptures, hand-painted signs, and old gas pumps sprinkled around the wooden shacks of town. Chloride may have the largest collection of yard art anywhere..we're not really sure, but there is a lot of it. Sometimes in someplaces you have green grass and flowers, but here (we don't have much water) we have yard art! It may look like junk to some people, but it is all in the eye of the beholder. Some of this stuff is really very clever. It is referred to by some as sculptural metal.
Nothing there. Don't do it!!!
I missed the junk yard art BUT if you keep going on the main road you'll get to a dirt road, which you can take to see some painted murals. The road can be a bit bumpy but the drive isn't far. The locals were hanging out up there and were really friendly. It was pretty neat.
**Not at this address BUT..
Continue on the main road and on the fence by the cattle guard there is a Junk fence which is cool.. then if you go into town (which is adorable) to 488 1Payroll St that’s where you’ll find the junk yard art! There’s a sweet older woman named Molly who owns a little shop and she’s so sweet, check it all out for sure!
Cute!
The pin drop was not where any art was. However. We did go I tot the town of Chloride and found it "interesting". There defiantly was junk yard art.
