“coffees from all over the world”
Located in the beautiful and historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati, Collective Espresso uses a variety of roast partners to bring you tasty drinks. We have delicious offerings originating all over the world, including Guatemala, Mzuzu, and Kenya. We also offer a fine collection of local sweets. Be sure to visit Collective Espresso for an experience at one of OTR's finest espresso and coffee bars!
With beans sourced and roasted locally, Collective Espresso is by far one of the best coffee bars I have visited. Fresh milk from the market and an artisans love for good coffee - not to mention the homemade goodness on Pie-Day Friday. Dustin and Dave do an incredible job. Great bar style seating. Brilliant coffee. The result: A daily ritual which includes a perfectly creamy latte with 3 shots. Not a bad way to start.
Coffee snobs in Cincinnati, rejoice! This is the best cup of joe in the city, they take it very seriously, and the prices are very high. Despite the cost, it's worth it.
If you are looking for the best coffee in Cincinnati, this is where you go.
On the downside (for me) it checks many a box box on the hipster coffee shop cliche list, with a vibe I would tend to find a little off-putting. That said I do know the founders now and they are truly lovely people, so I can easily focus on what's important, which is the damn fine coffee.
I've never been disappointed in a drink at Collective, but the atmosphere isn't welcoming enough to make me feel like I can stick around.
Collective definitely fits every hipster cliche in the book, but Dustin (one of the owners) really did take a 4-wheeler to the middle of nowhere and got the wood from an old abandoned barn and built the counters himself. They guys are genuinely as nice as can be and it's always nice to drop in for a coffee and bump into friends playing backgammon at the counter.
After living in Portland for 3 years, my coffee taste is pretty refined. Some might call me a coffee snob. After relocating to Cincinnati a year ago, I had a hard time finding a good cup of coffee. That all changed when I found Collective. There's not a whole lot of room on the inside, but their coffee is superb!
