“World class Virginia BBQ”
Eli’s Barbeque …where the music, the FOOD, and the people simmer together and create a great atmosphere. The saying “ Necessity is the mother of invention” does hold some truth. Eli and Drew, partners in the restaurant, met roughly 10 years ago in Findlay Market. They both decided to travel the U.S. together, hitch hik’in it, footin it, hobo’n. During their travels, they’d eaten good food in some rough places and bad food in some nice restaurants. It was after eating ‘false morel’ mushrooms in Texas, that Drew and Eli had a vision of a restaurant where white collar could sit next to blue, black next to white, child next to grown …you see, it didn’t matter. It’s the atmosphere, the music, the FOOD, and the people that simmer together and create this place. Not everyday is a good day in the restaurant business. But knowing what quality food is and serving folks who enjoy it does make it worthwhile. We thank you for your business and hope to see you again soon.
Heads up this place is cash only. Parking is either on the street or down a side street to a back lot. To order food walk in and stand in line! There is indoor and outdoor seating. Really good sides and great atmosphere.
I could eat this place every single day for the rest of my life. Literally everything on the menu is good. I don't even like beans but I get them here for some reason. It's bring your own beer too which makes it even cooler!
Fantastic barbecue, fantastic sauce. The beans are tasty, Have not yet been in the store, but I'm looking forward to it.
I usually call and put my order in ahead of time to avoid the line ;) Parking is a little tricky, but there's nothing like bringing a cooler of your favorite beer and sitting outside to enjoy your BBQ-- I recommend the pulled pork! They've usually got live music and picnic tables and it's a really fun almost party-like atmosphere.
Adding bacon to mac & cheese is both unnecessary and cheating in my book. That said you can't go wrong with anything at Eli's. I almost always stick with the pulled pork but turkey, beans, mashed potatoes -- You name it, it's amazing.
Take note they close at 9pm -- even on Friday night when they could serve a large hungry boozing crowd until well into Saturday morning!
My favorite part about Eli's is going when it's warm out and bringing some friends and some drinks to hang out outdoors, eat some BBQ, listen to music and have some low key fun. Also the perfect bike ride from downtown.
Absolutely the BEST BBQ I have ever had, anywhere, at anytime... This is a MUST if you are in Cincinnati. Not only the food, but also the atmosphere. Vinyl records, soda in glass bottles, the whole nine yards, this place is a treat.
This place is cash only, so bring some green!
This place has, easily, the best pulled pork in the city. The mac and cheese can sometimes be a little iffy, but when it's on, it's fantastic.
There's not a whole lot of seating indoors, and it can get loud when there's a band playing, but thankfully, there's loads of outdoor seating.
Bring cash! They don't accept credit cards.
Attention veggies, don't let the bbq scare you away because there is absolutely loads of delicious food you can eat here! The Mac & Cheese is out of this world good, and the corn bread is delicious. Yummers!
Everything at Eli's is incredible. Great atmosphere (especially outdoors when it's nice out), and you can't go wrong with anything you order. Make sure to bring cash and booze for maximum goodtimes.
