“See the Remnants of Dinosaurs!”
The park is an oasis in the rolling grasslands of northeastern New Mexico. Enjoy picnicking, camping, fishing, and hiking. Get a unique glimpse of the past with more than 500 dinosaur footprints. With lakes and rivers, New Mexico is the place to find your adventure whether it be motorboating, sailing, kayaking, rafting or canoeing. There are many State Parks that allow you to swim. Make sure to call the park directly for changes in designated waters and seasonal closures. We do not recommend cliff diving as New Mexico's terrain is very rocky in and out of water. Please remember to always where your life jackets!
Dark skies park
Gorgeous park with lots of space for camping. Only stayed the night, so no time for Dino footprints or hiking but the stay was great.
The ranger was friendly, the bathrooms were clean. And the hike was easy to the dinosaur tracks. We enjoyed looking and learning, and the drive in was enjoyable.
