“perfect place for weary travelers”
Located just north of the Oklahoma-Texas border on Highway 69/75, the Choctaw Welcome Center is the perfect place for weary travelers to stop and stretch their legs. Operated by the Choctaw Nation, this welcome center also displays various Native American and Made in Oklahoma art. Outside, visitors will see displays of the Choctaw traditional winter home, called an "Alaksha," as well as a dog park. A message tree, which was once used for communication in the area, is also on display with a plaque about its history.
Great stop and some great photo opportunities. Clean restroom and well taken care of stop.
Great gift shop! Maps and guides to anything you would want to do in Oklahoma.
