Maya was raised in a family where one would often hear, “Hello my love, I love you.” As a child, Maya found her passion early on. “Our family gatherings were around a large variety of succulent dishes with unforgettable tastes and smells, lovingly prepared by my grandma and mom. I still remember the hours the family would spend choosing, tossing, mixing, and grinding different spices to find a delicate balance of flavors that made grandma and mom’s cooking a lifetime mouthwatering experience.” Maya uses these masterful blends of spices here at Uchenna, which makes our cuisine both unique and time-honored.
