“natural history museum since 1907”
Built in 1907, the Elgin Public Museum is the only natural history museum in the Fox Valley area. The Museum offers exhibits and educational programs with natural history and cultural themes for families, school groups, Scouts, clubs, organizations, homeschoolers and anyone who wants to have fun while learning! It is located in beautiful Lords Park, over looking the zoo. We do outstanding programming and continually change exhibits
A small museum touches on geology, animals, and local history. Small donation is suggested. Gift store has trinkets to tempt you and kids.
It is good enough if you are planning to visit Lord's Park, but I would not want to visit this if I was vacationing far from home.
Rockford and Chicago have good alternative for your natural museum needs.
