“authentic Italian recipes in Euless”
Named after a small town 20 miles outside of Naples, Italy, Saviano’s Italian Restaurant first originated in a 1200 square foot shopping center in Long Island, New York. Back then, it was known as Village Pizza. As demand quickly grew, the Alfieri family moved to a larger location and changed the name to Alfieri Brothers’ Pizzeria. Again the demand started to outgrow the size of the restaurant and forced another move to a larger side of the center where they have remained since 1991. The following year, Saverio Alfieri decided to head south and expand the family business by opening a location in North Texas. Since then, Saverio and his two sons, Anthony and Giacomo, have managed to create one of Dallas/Ft. Worth’s best kept secrets. The Alfieri family has and will continue to serve authentic Italian recipes perfected by Grandma Alfieri herself.
We visited Saviano's for the first time on a Friday night based on the recommendation of a friend that lives in the area. We arrived at 6:00 and were able to get a seat with no wait, even though the parking lot was very full.
We ordered a house Chianti and the Cranberry Sangria to drink. The Chianti was good but the Sangria was event better. They make the Sangria with Big Eddy Cranberry Vodka in it, so it has a great fruity flavor and tasted great.
The plates of pasta looked huge so we ordered the pasta sampler which included a Manicotti, baked penne and two ravioli. We were able to order an extra side salad so we were both able to have a salad with our meal. The pasta was delicious, cooked perfectly and is something I am already craving again. I am not a huge fan of red sauce normally, but this particular sauce was amazing. I continued to eat the sauce even without pasta because it was so delicious.
Speaking of delicious, the garlic knots are simply amazing, real pieces of garlic in a butter bath can make everything delicious.
I did feel that the service was a little slow for us that night but I really think it was our particular waiter and was the exception.
When we left the front porch was filled with people who were waiting in line for their chance to enjoy this great Italian food.
